BATON TWIRLING

QUALIFICATION:
Competitors must compete and qualify at an AAU District Championship in each event they wish to be eligible in to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. A competitor can compete in only one level/one age group for each event. Check entry packet for complete details, and visit

6 person teams may enter either through Direct Entry or Local Qualifiers. Singles and Doubles will be Direct Entry.

CHEERLEADING

QUALIFICATION:
This is an open event. No pre-qualification is required.

AGE DIVISIONS:
5 & Under to 18

DIVISIONS:
Team, Pom Squad, Stunt Team, Crowd Leader, Solo Cheer, Jump, Tumble Pass.
Levels 1-5
Small Team, Medium Team, Large Team
Tiny(5 & Under), Mini(8 & Under), Youth(11 & Under), Junior(14 & Under), Senior(18 & Under).

DIVING

QUALIFICATION:
This is open to any participant meeting the membership guidelines. No qualifications are needed.

Novice and Elite 1 meter springboard

QUALIFICATION:
All athletes eligible to compete will have been selected from the USA Field Hockey Futures Program.

QUALIFICATION:

Participants qualify by participating or placing at a District Championships.  Check the entry packet for specific information per division.

Girls Compulsory: Level 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Girls Optional Divisions:  LNO, LIO, LAO, L7, L8, LOO

Ladies:  LNO, LIO, LAO, L7, L8, LOO

JUMP ROPE

QUALIFICATION:
Athletes qualify at one of the designated AAU Junior Olympic Games Jump Rope Qualifying Tournaments to be held at different geographic locations at various times.

Boys Singles: 8 and Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-22
Girls Singles: 8 and under, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-22
Pairs: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-22 (Pairs may be mixed gender)
Double Dutch: 12 and under, 13-14, 15-17, 18-22
Group: 13 and under, 14-22 (Teams may be mixed gender)

KARATE

QUALIFICATION:
Athletes may qualify by (A) placing in the top 4 at AAU district Championships (B) placing in the top 4 at AAU National Super Regional Karate Championship, (C) placing in the top 8 at AAU Junior Olympic Games Qualifier, or (D) placing in the top 16 at the AAU National Karate Championships.

POWERLIFTING

QUALIFICATION:
Competition is open to any lifter that is an AAU member in good standing.

SPORT STACKING

This event is held in conjunction with the World Sport Stacking Association and Speed Stacks.  Participants must qualify through select events hosted by Speed Stacks.

SWIMMING

QUALIFICATION:
First, second, and third place finishers in approved AAU District Swimming Championship Meets in individual events under 400M, will qualify.  

In addition, swimmers ages 9-18 who meet or beat the USA Swimming long course “A” minimum time standard for all 200M, 400M and 1500M events and "BB” time standards for events under 200M are eligible to compete in the events where they meet the minimum time standards.  Qualification for the 400M and 1500M is time only. The time standard must have been met during a bona fide competition during the period of July 18, 2011 through the entry deadline of July 18, 2012.

QUALIFICATION:
Qualification may only be determined through: (A) top 8 in AAU District Championships, (B) top 8 in AAU Regional Championships, (C) the prior year's AAU Junior Olympic Games gold medalists.

TRACK & FIELD / MULTI-EVENTS

QUALIFICATION:

TRACK & FIELD: The top five (5) finishers in each individual event at each 2012 AAU Track & Field National Qualifier Meet will qualify to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

MULTI EVENTS/RELAYS: The top four (4) finishers in each multi event or relay at each 2012 AAU Track & Field National Qualifier Meet will qualify to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS: The AAU National Club Championships will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL. Visit www.aauathletics.org for information. The top eight (8) finishers will qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in that event only.

PRIMARY CHAMPIONSHIPS: The AAU National Primary Championships will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL. Visit www.aauathletics.org for information. The top eight (8) finishers from the combined results of each age group will qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in that event only.

WEST COAST AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES: The West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games will be held in Reno, NV. Visit www.wcaaujrogames.org for information. The top eight (8) finishers will qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in that event only

TRAMPOLINE & TUMBLING

QUALIFICATION:
All competitors must compete in the AAU District Championships and go to a sanctioned meet prior the to District UNLESS their club had at least five athletes that competed the previous year; then an athlete does NOT have to attend a sanctioned meet prior to the District Championships. A competitor can compete in only one level/one age group in trampoline and only one level/one age group in tumbling. You must submit a petition to the National Chair if you can not attend the District Championship.

QUALIFICATION:
Open to all registered AAU and USA Weightlifting athletes who meet qualifying totals in either an AAU or USA Weightlifting competition.

WRESTLING

QUALIFICATIONS:
Districts may enter more than one team. There is not a limit to the number of teams that may represent a single District. A team may only represent a single District and all members comprising a team must be from the same AAU District (or released by their District according to the guidelines in the annual AAU Wrestling Manual). Teams (in a District which holds qualifying events) must receive approval from that District wrestling chair if they did not qualify and wish to bring a team.

DIVISIONS:
High School: Freestyle competition with teams comprised of up to 20 wrestlers having birth years of 1993-1999. All wrestlers must have been enrolled in high school during the 2011-2012 school year.
