Most of your questions regarding the AAU Junior Olympic Games can be answered by reviewing the Entry Packet for your sport and the Event Info/Handbook section of the web site. For your sport Entry Packet, click on “Pick a Sport” on top of the web site.
1. How can I participate in the AAU Junior Olympic Games?
Each sport has its own requirements for participation.Click on the "How can I Participate" button on the right.
2. How do I get an entry packet?
Entry information is available online. Just click on “Pick a Sport” located at the top of the page. Once you are on the sport specific page, select the option for Entry and Event Info or Entry Packet. If you need additional information, please contact aaujuniorolympicgames@aausports.org .
3. How do I become a member of the AAU?
You can join online at www.aausports.org and receive a membership immediately. Membership fees are $12 per athlete, $14 per non-athlete (coach). Depending on your sport, AAU Club Membership may also be required.
4. I paid for my AAU membership card, but never received it. How do I get my card?
If you paid online, you will not receive a membership card in the mail but will receive an email with your membership card. AAU Membership Cards can now also be reprinted online at www.aausports.org . Click on “ Reprint Membership Card.”
5. Do I have to have my membership card at check-in?
Yes, we recommend that you bring your AAU membership card with you to check-in. AAU Membership Cards can now be reprinted online. Click here to reprint your card.
6. I registered online. How do I know if I am entered?
Once you pay for your entry online, you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email is your receipt that you have paid for the event. As long as you have met the eligibility requirements and completed all the required information, you are entered. There are no refunds on the entry, so be sure you are eligible before entering.
7. When is the entry deadline?
Please check your sport's entry information for the deadline date that entries must be completed.
Online registration will close at 11:59 pm EST on the deadline date.
If your sport accepts entries through the mail, it must be RECEIVED by the entry deadline. The postmark date does not matter.
8. It is after the entry deadline. Can I still enter?
It depends on the sport if late entries will be accepted. Check with the National Office at 407-934-7200.
9. Do I have to attend the Celebration of Athletes?
Attendance is not required, but we encourage everyone to attend. Check the web site at www.aaujrogames.org for more announcements.
10. Can a coach check in for the athlete or does the athlete need to be present?
If the coach has a copy of the AAU membership card and all the paperwork has been properly submitted in advance, then a coach can check-in for the athlete. The athlete does not need to be present to check-in, but your sport may require a weigh-in. Check your sport specific entry information for details.
11. The schedule says check-in for my sport is on Monday, but I don't compete until Wednesday. Do I have to check-in on Monday?
All athletes must check-in the day prior to when they compete. If you don't compete on the first day of competition, you don't have to check-in on the first day.
12. My flight arrives after the check-in is closed. Can I check-in the next day?
We strongly recommend you check-in the day prior to competition. Registration is open to any sport during operating hours (except for team sports). If you are checking in the day you compete, there may be long lines at check-in and you may miss your event. You will not be allowed to compete without checking in.
Team sports have set check-in times. Please refer to your entry packet for additional information.
13. I sent in my entry, but now I can't come. How do I get a refund?
All fees are non-refundable. You will not get a refund if you do not come.
14. How do I get a copy of the schedule for my sport?
Schedules will be posted on the web at www.aaujrogames.org when available. Contact the national sports chair for more specific information.
15. What does a credential allow me to do?
Athlete and coaches credentials will allow access into any of the competition venues during the Games as well as the Celebration of Athletes. Athletes and coaches will receive a goodie bag at Check-In.
Depending on the sport, coaches' credentials may or may not allow you access to competition areas. For example:
Track – Coaches do not have access to go on to the track
Taekwondo & Karate – Only coaches who have attended the certification clinic will be allow access to the competition floor.
Swimming - additional credentialing will be needed to attend meetings, deck access, etc.
Refer to your sport specific entry packet for more information on coaching.
16. Will transportation be provided for athletes to the venues?
No, participants are responsible for their own transportation needs.
17. How do I make hotel reservations?
